Jerry's Photo

Jerry H. Lorey, ChFC®

Jerry is driven to serve the personal financial needs of businesspeople, like his parents, helping to coordinate their lives beyond the business. A son of an entrepreneur and manager, Jerry was immersed in business from an early age and has keen insight into the business owner mentality. He has witnessed and exemplifies what is necessary to weather the ups and downs that occur in business: the power of work ethic, tenacity and evidence-based decision making.

As a financial advisor, Jerry is a founding partner at The Summit Group. He began his career in financial services with New York Life in 2004. Prior to that Jerry worked in hospital and medical practice administration. He also served in the Louisiana Army National Guard from 1989-2007 and was deployed to Desert Storm.

At The Summit Group Jerry provides fee-based financial planning, investment advisory services and access to investment management programs through Eagle Strategies.* He is also a Member Agent of The Nautilus Group®, an elite service of New York Life Insurance Company, where he works hand-in-hand with Nautilus specialists experienced in taxes, law, life insurance, accounting, and charitable giving. This relationship helps ensure that Jerry’s clients benefit from some of the most sound thinking when it comes to their estate.

Since 2008, Jerry has been a member of New York Life's Chairman's Council, and since 2006 a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT®). MDRT is recognized throughout the industry as the standard of excellence in the insurance industry.

Jerry has a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana Tech University.

Jerry resides in Shreveport with his wife Merritt and their four children. He is a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and boating.

Our Staff

Shelly Gonsoulin

Shelly Gonsoulin became a member of the Summit Group team in December of 2014. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Shortly after, she moved home to Shreveport to be closer to her family and begin her post college career. In addition to her degree, Shelly received her Certified Personal Trainer license in January of 2016. She enjoys physical fitness training, playing soccer, riding in the Krewe of Centaur with her parents and cheering for the Tigers all year round. Traveling and new experiences are also among her passions; she spent a summer studying abroad in Ireland. But – what she loves most - is spending time with her family and friends.

Shelly became a Registered Service Assistant for Jerry H. Lorey after passing the Series 6 in May of 2016. In efforts to accomplish her career goals, she plans to continue her pursuit of the necessary certifications to become an Associate Financial Advisor in the near future.

Neta Norman

Neta Norman joined the Summit Group team in November 2017. She retired from Louisiana Tech University in May of 2011, where she worked as the Supervisor of the Tech Express/ID Office. Shortly after retiring, she moved to Shreveport to be near her grandchildren. It didn’t take long for her to realize she was not a stay-at-home grandparent…so back to the workforce she went. Neta worked as bookkeeper for a local business and then as administrative assistant for an accounting firm before joining the Summit Group.

Neta enjoys spending time with her grandchildren in whatever they have going on. She is very active with her church group, “the Senior Servants” and enjoys all their many bus travel adventures. She hopes to one day visit the Mediterranean countries and The Holy Lands. Neta says she’s not sure “the Senior Servants” can make that trip, buses and water don’t travel well together.

Neta serves as receptionist for the Summit Group and she very much enjoys meeting and greeting our clients as they visit our office.

Dr. Wally Nawas

Bossier Eye Institute

Dr. Wally Nawas grew up in Monroe, Louisiana. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years. After his honorable discharge, Dr. Nawas obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi where he received highest honors.

He returned to Louisiana to attend medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at Shreveport. He then completed a one-year Internal Medicine internship as well as a three-year Ophthalmology residency at LSUHSC-Shreveport.

Dr. Nawas and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Bossier City. They have three children: Caroline, Jake, and Zach. Caroline is a 2008 graduate of Airline High School, a 2012 graduate of LSU Baton Rouge, and a 2014 graduate of University of Louisiana Lafayette. She and her husband, Joel, live in Lafayette with their son, Max. Jake is in Nashville pursuing his career in music both writing and singing. Zach attends Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama as an accounting major and plays on the school’s lacrosse team.

Dr. Jason Milligan

Family Medicine

Dr. Jason Milligan grew up in Bossier City and is fulfilling a dream of practicing medicine in his hometown. After graduating from Parkway High School, he obtained his bachelor’s degree from The Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University.

After he earned his M.D. from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, he also completed residency there and had the honor of serving as chief resident in the Department of Family Medicine.

Dr. Milligan chose the specialty of Family Medicine because of his love of getting to know and treat families across generations. He and his wife, Jenny, reside in Benton, Louisiana. They have two small boys: Jake and Jude.

Dr. Tharwat Ghattas

Hospitalist Specialist

Dr. Tharwat Ghattas was born in Menia, Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University Medical School before moving to the United States. He completed his medical training at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

He is the Chief Hospitalist at Highland Hospital in Shreveport. He met his wife, Irina in Shreveport and were married in Dubai in 2017. The recently welcomed a beautiful new son, Rafael.

Enviro Services

Lifelong friends Trey Towns and Jered Ramsey founded Enviro Services in April of 2011 with a handful of employees to provide restoration services for the pipeline industry.

The company offers superior rental equipment for earth work, restoration materials and environmental control devices to return the earth to its natural state.

Since then, they have grown to 17 employees Louisiana and over 165 employees in various states.

SBC Mechanical consistently delivers superior quality air conditioning and heating repair and installation services. As a locally owned and operated company, we thrive on our relationships with our customers and the community. We provide solutions for both residential and commercial. We always stand behind our work, done honestly, fairly, and with integrity, because we are the Shreveport-Bossier City air conditioning and heating professionals you can trust. Trey Allen-Owner.

Andrews Flooring

Bill and Brenda Andrews founded Andrews Flooring, LLC in 2000, having 26 years of combined experience in the flooring industry, with a vision of serving the local residential and commercial flooring market.

They have strong customer relationships in the education, gaming, property management, and healthcare industries. They have built these relationships by putting the needs of their customer's first. They have a skilled, dedicated staff in place to satisfy the demands of their customer base.

In their spare time they enjoy living life to its fullest.

Will and Robin Mulhearn

Will and Robin Mulhearn reside in Bossier City, LA with their 17-year-old daughter, Kailey. They have worked in the pharmaceutical sales industry for 15 years.

In their free time, they enjoy travel, exercise and watching Kailey participate with the Blue Angel’s at Airline High School.

Stuart's Integrated Services

Stuarts Inc is owned and operated by Jon and Kim Walton. Founded in 1975 by Richard Stuart as a copier and typewriter dealer.

Stuarts Inc has since evolved into a full-service managed print services company along with a sister company, TeamLogicIT, that provides managed network services.

Jon began at the company in January of 1996 and progressed throughout the ranks and now is the President. He brought his wife Kim into the company in 2008 where she uses her accounting background as the CFO.

Both Kim and Jon are heavily involved in the community with athletics and fundraising. Their interests include spending time with their kids and grandkids at their lake house.

Albritton Service Company

Albritton Service Company was founded in 1982 by Dick Albritton. For almost 30 years the company has continually grown by offering excellent service and dedication to our customers. Jason Albritton, Dick’s son, now owns and manages all operations of the business.

Albritton Service Company is a York Air Conditioning and Heating dealer specializing in the installation and servicing of all brands of air conditioning and heating systems.We specialize in all phases of Electrical repair, from changing receptacles to wiring new homes and buildings. We also repair refrigeration problems such as Walk in coolers, freezers, ice machine, etc.
